Dr. Stuart Kohlhagen, an international STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) expert who visited the school for two weeks in June, is fortunately continuing to advise our teachers and students in STEM. We are grateful for this continued mentorship, which is measurably growing our students' knowledge, skills, and confidence. We wanted to share one activity the students in grades 10-12 engaged in—salvaging parts from broken computers, connecting them to an electrical circuit, and experimenting with Morse code. It is wonderful to see our students feel empowered to create and solve problems.
